Terms of Service
The agreement for using CrowdTune: private events only, music licensing, YouTube, paid plans and passes, and refunds. Last updated 10 October 2026.
Who you are agreeing with
CrowdTune is operated by Aleksandar Trenchevski, Skopje, North Macedonia (“CrowdTune”, “I”, “me”). By creating an account or using the service (including voting as a guest), you agree to these terms.
Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are using CrowdTune on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
Guests can suggest and vote on songs at an event without an account. These terms still apply to them.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell me promptly if you think someone else has it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not share credentials or impersonate anyone.
Music licensing: please read this one
CrowdTune is software that helps a crowd choose what plays. It is not a music licence, and it grants you no rights whatsoever in any recording or composition.
CrowdTune is for private events: a party, a wedding, a birthday, a team night. It plays music through YouTube, and YouTube’s terms allow personal, non-commercial use only; they forbid publicly screening videos or streaming music from YouTube. So do not use CrowdTune to play music to the public or to customers, for example as background music in a bar, club, restaurant, shop or gym. A collecting-society licence does not change that, because it covers the music, not the use of YouTube.
A private event, for these terms, is one where CrowdTune plays music through YouTube and all of these are true: the host invited the guests, the event is not open to the public, nobody pays admission to get in, and the music is not played to customers on business premises. A party in a rented hall is private, and so is a staff party at your workplace. A club night anyone can walk into, or a party that sells tickets to the public, is not.
If you host an event, you are responsible for holding whatever public-performance rights or licences that event needs: from ZAMP in North Macedonia, or from PRS, GEMA, SACEM, SIAE or the equivalent body wherever your event takes place, or from the venue if the venue holds them. Many venues already hold a blanket licence and many do not; finding out which applies is your responsibility.
When you create an event you are asked to confirm this. Do not confirm it if it is not true.
If a rights holder or collecting society raises a claim arising from an event you hosted, that claim is yours to answer, not mine.
What you may not do
- Submit song titles or event names that are unlawful, abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringe someone’s rights.
- Use CrowdTune to stalk, dox, threaten or target anyone.
- Break, overload, probe or work around the service, its rate limits or its access controls.
- Scrape it, resell access to it, or use it to build a competing dataset.
- Manipulate voting: ballot-stuffing, automated voting, or using guest passes to vote more than once as one person.
Content you submit
The text you enter (event names, song requests) stays yours. You give me permission to display and store it so the service can work. You confirm you have the right to submit it.
I can remove content that breaks these terms, and hosts can remove content from their own events. Anyone can report content: the Content & Reporting Policy explains how, and what happens next.
YouTube
CrowdTune searches and plays music using YouTube’s API services. By using CrowdTune you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Whether a particular video can lawfully be played at your event is between you, the rights holder and YouTube’s own terms. Ad-free YouTube playback on the display device is a matter between that device’s account holder and Google, and is not something CrowdTune provides or controls.
Paid plans and event passes
CrowdTune has a free tier and paid tiers. Everything paid is sold through AgentaOS, which acts as merchant of record: your contract for the payment is with them, they handle tax, and they issue your receipt. Prices are shown before you buy.
A subscription renews automatically for the period you chose until you cancel it. Cancel any time; you keep what you paid for until the end of the current period. Until then you can undo the cancellation from your account, and the subscription renews as before.
Pro is for your own workspace. Teams is for co-hosting your own private events with the people you invite: each team you create has its own Teams subscription, and a team without one cannot host events until it is paid for.
You can change plan from your account. Moving from Pro to Teams applies at once: you pay the difference for the rest of the current period, then the Teams price each period after it. On your own workspace, moving from Teams to Pro applies at the next renewal, and you can undo it until then. A shared team stays on Teams. You cannot switch between monthly and annual billing in place; cancel, and subscribe again once the current period ends.
An event pass, an Event pass or a Big party pass, is a single payment rather than a subscription. It lifts one event’s limits for three days, does not renew and does not start a subscription. A Big party pass gives that event Teams limits but no co-hosts.
Play next is free. Unless the host has turned it off for their event, every guest can pick one song per event to play next. An event holds at most five picked songs waiting to play at once, and a guest cannot pick while five are waiting. The host and their co-hosts can also pin a song to play next. Pinned songs play first, in the order they were pinned, then picked songs in the order they were picked, all ahead of the vote ranking. The host can undo a pick, and that guest gets theirs back. Nobody can pay to choose what plays.
Your right to change your mind
If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or North Macedonia, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. That covers everything sold here: a subscription and an event unlock.
CrowdTune is digital content and everything you buy is supplied immediately. That right can be given up in law, but only where you are asked to request immediate supply and to acknowledge that asking ends the right. Rather than rely on that, I honour the 14 days. Email me and I will ask AgentaOS to refund you, without asking why. They hold the payment, so the refund comes from them; getting it done is my job, not yours.
The 14 days run from when you buy. For a subscription that is when you first take it out, not each time it renews. A renewal continues a contract you already have rather than starting a new one. You can cancel a subscription at any time, which is a different thing and is described above.
That includes a purchase you have already used. An unlock is spent as soon as the event’s limits lift, and it is not something I can take back. Ask anyway and you will get your money back. The same applies to a song boost bought before boosts became free.
If AgentaOS has not refunded you within a reasonable time, tell me again and I will chase it. You should not have to deal with them yourself.
Cancelling a subscription is a separate thing from withdrawing: it stops the next renewal and you keep the plan until the end of the period you already paid for.
None of this affects your rights when something is faulty.
Availability
CrowdTune is provided as-is and as-available. I do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and I may change or discontinue features. Events are short-lived by design: an event and its songs are removed within roughly 30 days.
If a feature you paid for stops working for a meaningful period, tell me and I will sort out a fair remedy.
Suspension and ending your account
You can delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what deletion does.
I can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or that puts the service or its users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, I will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.
Liability
CrowdTune is a small service run by one person, and the limits here reflect that. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost bookings, or anything arising from music licensing at your event. Where I am liable, that liability is capped at what you paid me in the 12 months before the claim, or €50 if you paid nothing.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any statutory right you have as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
These terms were last updated on 10 October 2026. When I change them, I publish the new text on this page with a new "last updated" date. When a change is material, the version of the legal documents changes too, and the cookie banner asks for your choice again on your next visit. If you carry on using CrowdTune afterwards, that is your acceptance; if you would rather not, you can close your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of North Macedonia, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
